Who We Are
University Christian Outreach (UCO) is an ecumenical group of young men and women in Pittsburgh seeking Christ together while attending university. Our mission is to bring the Gospel to our campuses in a powerful way through prayer, evangelism and the witness of our life together. We promote the unity of Christians who are Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, Non-Denominational and Pentecostal by choosing to pray, worship, evangelize and build community together.
UCO is rooted in the core principles of Christianity. Weekly prayer meetings include a variety of Scriptural teaching, testimonies and a substantial time of prayer and praise, all designed to enhance our walk with Christ. We seek to live out the call to be disciples of Jesus Christ on a daily basis. UCO is also charismatic, which means we encourage receptivity to the Holy Spirit and exercise of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Along with prayer, worship, teaching and service, UCO encourages strong fellowship among its members. We hold many social events and enjoy one another’s company.
We welcome you to come check us out this year!
Steph is from South Haven, Michigan, and graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Architecture. Before joining the staff for UCO Pittsburgh in July 2014, she spent one year on staff with UCO Belfast, followed by four years with UCO Ann Arbor, where she met and married her husband Ben. Steph learned everything she knows about cars (which is precious little) from her dad (who does know everything). She loves good design, good books, history, experimental cooking, hugging pillows, and general merriment.
