We are a community of disciples on mission.
Four charisms describe our distinctive values:
University Christian Outreach (UCO) has its origins in the Charismatic Renewal movement of the late sixties in the United States. A group of students, moved by the Holy Spirit, decided to make the most of their student years for Christ and bring the Gospel of Jesus to their fellow students. First established in Ann Arbor, at the University of Michigan, the group was originally called the Dorm District. UCO acquired its present name in the late seventies. In the seventies and eighties, other UCOs were founded in Lansing and Pittsburgh.
UCO is a member of Kairos North America, the youth work organization of the Sword of the Spirit. UCO is a student outreach and is supported in various ways by local network of Christian families. Some UCOs are staffed in part by members of the Servants of the Word.
Saint Paul’s Outreach (SPO) is our sister organization based in St Paul, Minnesota.
YouthWorks-Detroit is an affiliated organisation in Detroit that runs youth programs, mission trips and outreach events in the inner city.

He was led to UCO, where he is honored to serve, proclaiming the good news and preparing the way for the Lord! Andrew likes to read, is always willing to karaoke, and loves to whistle.
Rosemary is a wife and mother of four girls. She served as a UCO staffer for five years after college, and now works as a Physician Assistant in a local ER. She is grateful for the continued opportunity to advance the Good News of God’s love in the university setting. She also likes to hang out at beautiful beaches and work out at the gym. Rosemary is the Executive Supervisor who helps with the development of UCOs across the region, the senior staff in many chapters, and the broader growth of mission positions for women in UCO.
Brendan is a native of the great state of New Jersey, but spent his college years studying at Michigan State. It was there that he met his beautiful wife, Sophie. They were married in his senior year of college and soon after, were off to Maryland to plant a new UCO chapter at the University of Maryland. Four-and-a-half years and three kids later, they are back at MSU where Brendan serves as a Mission Director. In his free time, Brendan enjoys date nights with Sophie, hiking and looking for wildlife with his kids, and MSU sports.
James is a Lansing native, but graduated from a school down the road. While in university, he was involved with our chapters in Lansing, Ann Arbor, and for a brief stint with our sister chapter in London, England. James currently works for UCO and Kairos North America, an organization that supports outreaches like UCO.
Tim is originally from Vancouver, Canada and moved to Michigan to be on staff with UCO. He attended the University of British Columbia and studied Philosophy while being involved in the UCO chapter there. One of Tim’s favourite things to do is to share a good meal with friends.
Clara, a born and raised Michigander, has delighted in living and serving in Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Detroit and Lansing Michigan. She was first introduced to UCO as a student at Grand Valley State University. After earning her B.B.A in Accounting, she moved to Lansing to serve on staff with UCO. She loves going on walks, jamming on the djembe, budgeting, playing ultimate frisbee and spreading the joy of the Lord.
Bonnie is a Michigan native and has lived in the Lansing area all her life. She first became involved with outreach to college students when she was a student at Michigan State University. She and her husband, Jon, have five adult children. After a number of years spent caring for her family, she came back to UCO and has been serving with us for the past 15 years. David Williamson loves adventure — especially the great adventure of following the Lord of the Universe. He studied Greek and Intellectual History at the University of Michigan and is currently working on a Masters of Theological Studies at Calvin Seminary. He uses his experience in life to lead the Grand Rapids Formation Program. When not working for UCO you can find him sailing, woodworking, or playing with his kids.
Sarah is an Ann Arbor native who graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in English, French, and Secondary Education. But instead of teaching high school, she started working for UCO. When not doing UCO, Sarah loves to play Scrabble, speak French, cook yummy homemade food, and spend time with her wonderful husband David and adorable children.
Steph is from South Haven, Michigan, and graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Architecture. Before joining the staff for UCO Pittsburgh in July 2014, she spent one year on staff with UCO Belfast, followed by four years with UCO Ann Arbor, where she met and married her husband Ben. Steph learned everything she knows about cars (which is precious little) from her dad (who does know everything). She loves good design, good books, history, experimental cooking, hugging pillows, and general merriment.
Molly is on her third year as a UCO Staffer and hails from Saint Paul, MN, where she grew up and was a member of Saint Paul’s Outreach, a sister outreach of UCO. After graduating with a bachelor’s in Cell & Molecular Biology, he moved up to Lansing, where he has been on staff with UCO for the past 6 years. Alex enjoys reading and playing just about any sport. He oversees the UCO chapter in Lansing, the Campus Mission Academy and other regional events, and helps with some of the new UCO chapters in the region.
Noel Armando Delgadillo was born and raised in Miami. He received his B.S. in Liberal Arts from Florida International University. He has been serving and working for UCO since the Fall of 2006. He currently serves as the Chapter Director at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids. After experiencing the deep and transformative love of Christ and wanting to give back to Him and others what he had freely received, Noel started doing mission work with a missionary brotherhood, the Servants of the Word. Interests: pushing the limits, soccer, coffee, building community, polar plunges, music, the Psalms, laughing, Founder’s breakfast stout…
Bridget Bonenfant is from Redford, Michigan. She graduated from Grand Valley State University where she studied English Literature. Bridget is the youngest in a family of eleven and is an extremely proud aunt of a large bunch of beautiful nieces and nephews. She has a deep love for the aesthetic things in life. Her friends would say she has an unhealthy obsession with candles, but her track record for setting off smoke alarms is getting better. Some quirky loves include: rain ponchos, drinking hot water, whistling, and the smell of gasoline. Some more mainstream loves include: poetry, flowers, vanilla lattes, the Psalms, anything and everything that has to do with Fall, and acoustic, folky music.
